Dear Father,

I’m sorry I couldn’t write to you earlier because I was too busy coming here in the college dorm. Now, I am writing this letter to tell you about this wonderful world in which I am now living. This is a very strange and different experience for me. College life is completely different and full of excitement as compared to school life. The building is magnificent and large. Classrooms are airy, neat and clean. Professors are regular and punctual and have a good grasp on their subjects. We are eagerly taking our lectures and making notes. We have a big playground in our college where we play in our spare time for exercise which keeps a man healthy.

Hostel life has its problems and attractions. This is my first time when I am away from home so I am facing some other problems. But, don’t worry dad, I am trying my best to accommodate myself as per the rules and regulations of hostel life. We are given a proper timetable for the whole day for all the activities. I am well, Insha-Allah-Ta’ala, adjusting myself to this new world. I need your prayers. Please bow down to my mother, brother and sister.

your affectionately,

Rakib Ali.
